LF Solenoid Valve ELBI Type 329 for Professional Appliances

A solenoid valve controls the flow of water or steam in professional catering equipment by converting an electrical signal into mechanical movement. When the appliance calls for water—whether to fill a dishwasher, rinse a coffee machine or top up a boiler—the valve receives a voltage pulse. This energises an internal coil, creating a magnetic field that lifts a plunger off its seat. The seat opens, allowing fluid to pass through the inlet and onward into the machine. As soon as the pulse ends, the coil de-energises, the plunger drops back and the flow stops. The design ensures instant, repeatable shut-off, preventing leaks and overfilling in high-cycle environments.

The operator does not interact with the valve directly; it is triggered automatically by the appliance's control programme. Once installed, the valve remains hidden behind panels or beneath worktops, responding to signals from the machine's timer or level sensor. Maintenance staff may need to isolate the water supply and remove the valve only if a fault is suspected or during scheduled descaling.

Constructed with a brass body and synthetic seals, the ELBI Type 329 is built for continuous service in hot, wet conditions. The single inlet accepts a 3/4-inch connection, matching the standard plumbing found in most commercial kitchens. Electrical terminals are enclosed to protect against splashes, and the coil is rated for 220/240 V 50/60 Hz, plugging into the same circuit that powers the appliance it serves.

The 90 °C temperature rating allows the valve to handle hot rinse cycles and steam lines without deforming. Its compact footprint fits inside tight machine housings, and the lightweight construction simplifies handling during installation or replacement.

Cleaning is limited to external wipe-downs; internal parts are not user-serviceable. The valve is supplied as a single version, with no variants or adjustable settings.
