Automatic machine with volumetric dosage. With 2 groups. Electronic model
- : Magister Sistema Caffe
- Article number: BHS-DELTA-ESD-HG-2G
A two-group espresso machine draws pressurised hot water through tightly packed coffee grounds to extract rich, concentrated coffee. The DELTA ESD HG heats an 11 L boiler to the exact temperature set on its touch panel, ensuring consistent brewing across both groups. A volumetric pump maintains steady pressure, while an electronic by-pass balances flow when both groups operate simultaneously. Pre-infusion gently saturates the coffee puck before full pressure is applied, improving extraction and reducing channeling. The machine's self-learning dose programming adjusts grind settings over time, adapting to different beans and roasts without manual recalibration.
To operate, the barista loads the porta-filter with ground coffee, locks it into the group head, and selects a pre-programmed dose or presses the continuous brew button. The OLED display shows real-time boiler temperature, water level, and a brewing timer for each group. Steam wands, positioned on either side, release pressurised steam for milk texturing, with cool-touch Teflon inserts preventing burns. A separate hot water dispenser delivers water at a set temperature for tea or Americanos. Programmable on/off cycles allow the machine to power up before service begins, while maintenance alerts remind staff when cleaning or descaling is due.
The body is constructed from polished stainless steel, with moulded polyurethane side panels framed in stainless steel for durability and ease of cleaning. A switching power unit stabilises voltage fluctuations, protecting the electronics from surges. Porta-filters feature Magister OEM handles with cool-touch grips, and the working area is illuminated by LED lights for visibility during early or late shifts. White LED back-lit touch panels display personalised Magister graphics, guiding the user through settings without clutter.
Controls include six touch-sensitive keys on each group's panel, allowing baristas to select doses, start brewing, or activate steam. The OLED display's four programming buttons enable adjustments to boiler temperature, pre-infusion time, and maintenance alerts. A chrono-function tracks extraction time per group, helping staff monitor consistency. The machine's 4.5 kW power rating requires a dedicated circuit, while its 74 kg weight ensures stability on a worktop but may need two people to move. The 830 mm width accommodates two baristas working side by side, with the 535 mm depth fitting standard counter depths without overhang.
Cleaning involves daily purging of steam wands to prevent milk residue build-up, wiping down the stainless steel surfaces with a damp cloth, and descaling the boiler as indicated by the maintenance alarm. Porta-filters and group heads should be rinsed after each use to remove coffee oils, while the drip tray and waste drawer require emptying regularly. The touch panels can be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth to avoid damaging the LED backlighting.
The DELTA ESD HG is available in electronic and semi-electronic configurations, allowing kitchens to choose between full programmability or simplified operation. It is categorised under professional espresso machines in the Magister Sistema Caffe range.
