An electric stove built for continuous service in professional kitchens, the MBM DOMINA PRO 700 combines fast-heating cast iron hotplates with a sturdy stand and a stainless-steel worktop. Each hotplate is a sealed unit that converts electrical energy directly into heat through a high-resistance element embedded in the cast iron. The iron's mass retains heat, smoothing out temperature fluctuations when food is added or removed, while the sealed construction prevents oil or liquid from reaching the element, reducing fire risk and simplifying cleaning.
The operator selects a hotplate by switching it on; an indicator light confirms it is live. Once the plate reaches working temperature, pots or pans are placed directly on the surface. The safety device cuts power if the plate exceeds a set temperature, preventing damage to the element and reducing the risk of overheating adjacent surfaces. When cooking is complete, the switch is turned off and the hotplate is left to cool before cleaning.
The stove is constructed on a welded frame that supports a 1 mm AISI 18/10 stainless-steel worktop. The worktop is seamless at the joints, eliminating crevices where food debris could collect. Three versions of hotplate are available: rounded plates in 145 mm and 200 mm diameters, a square 220×220 mm plate, and a lowered 300×300 mm plate. Each version is fixed to the worktop and cannot be interchanged after manufacture.
A 5.2 kW power rating indicates a three-phase 400 V supply is required, the standard for commercial catering equipment in the UK. The 45 kg weight allows the unit to be moved with a trolley or two-person lift, while the 400×730 mm footprint fits within a standard worktop run without overhang. The 850 mm height aligns with most professional kitchen counters, allowing staff to work at the stove without bending.
Cleaning is limited to the exposed surfaces: the stainless-steel worktop and the cast iron hotplates. The worktop is wiped with a damp cloth and mild detergent; abrasives are avoided to preserve the finish. The hotplates are cleaned once cooled, using a non-scratch pad and a degreaser suitable for cast iron. The sealed construction means no internal parts require maintenance beyond the safety device, which is factory-set and not user-adjustable.
The DOMINA PRO 700 is listed in the MBM catalogue under electric stoves with stands.
