1 ELECTRIC PLATE 3.5X4 kW
An electric worktop hob that places four independently controlled cooking zones on a single stainless-steel work surface. Each zone is heated by a concealed 3.5 kW element beneath a thick carbon-steel plate. When power is applied, the element glows and transfers heat directly into the plate, raising its temperature evenly across the entire cooking area. The operator sets the desired temperature on the zone's control, and the element cycles on and off to maintain that level, allowing precise searing, simmering or holding without hot spots.
To begin, the operator turns each zone's control to the required setting between 80 °C and 450 °C. The element heats the carbon-steel plate until the set point is reached, then modulates to keep the temperature steady. Pots and pans are placed directly on the plate; no griddle or additional surface is needed. When cooking is complete, the control is turned off and the zone cools gradually. The pressed edges around the worktop collect any spills, preventing liquids from running onto the floor or adjacent equipment.
The worktop is constructed from 2 mm AISI 304 stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and ease of cleaning. The cooking surface itself is a single 15 mm carbon-steel plate, which retains and distributes heat evenly across its 50 cm² area per zone. Four 3.5 kW heating elements, one beneath each zone, provide the total 14 kW power rating. The unit is designed for a 400 V three-phase supply, the standard circuit used in professional kitchens for high-power appliances.
Each of the four zones has its own control, allowing different temperatures to be set simultaneously. The temperature range of 80–450 °C covers everything from gentle warming to high-heat searing. The 800×900 mm footprint fits on most worktops, while the 250 mm height allows it to sit flush with adjacent equipment. The 121 kg weight means the unit is moved with a trolley or two-person lift, not carried by hand.
Cleaning is done with a damp cloth and mild detergent; the pressed edges keep liquids contained. The stainless-steel worktop and carbon-steel plate can be wiped down after each service, and the independent controls allow zones to be cleaned one at a time without shutting down the entire hob.
The DOMINA PRO 900 is a single model with no variants. It is listed in the catalogue under electric worktop hobs for professional catering.
