A chrome-plate grill transfers radiant heat from electric elements directly to the food without flames or hot air. The polished chrome surface reflects the heat downward, concentrating it on the grill bars so that meat, fish and vegetables sear quickly and develop a caramelised crust while remaining juicy inside. Because the heat is radiant, there is no fan to blow grease or smoke around the kitchen, and the surface stays cooler to the touch than a cast-iron plate of the same temperature.
The operator places the food on the grill bars, closes the hinged splash guard and sets the thermostat. Once the temperature is reached, the grill maintains it automatically. After cooking, the bars and splash guard lift away for cleaning. The chrome finish does not absorb flavours and is easy to wipe down between batches.
The unit is built on a stainless-steel chassis with a chrome-plated cast-iron grill plate. The 600 mm square footprint fits standard worktop depths and allows side-by-side installation under a canopy. A 7.5 kW load requires a three-phase 400 V circuit, the standard supply for professional catering equipment. The 55 kg weight means the grill is moved with a trolley and stays in place during service.
Controls consist of a single thermostat knob that sets the radiant temperature across the entire grill surface.
Cleaning involves removing the grill bars and splash guard, washing them in a sink or dishwasher, and wiping the chrome plate with a damp cloth. The stainless-steel chassis is wiped down with a mild detergent.
This model is the single chrome-plate grill in the MBM EF range, designed for rapid searing on a professional worktop.
