Gas oven 540x700x300 mm
A gas stove with built-in oven combines direct flame heat on the hob with radiant or convected heat inside the chamber, giving a kitchen two cooking methods in one footprint. The hob burners fire beneath pots and pans, transferring energy through the metal base to the food; the oven burner or elements heat the air around the food, cooking it evenly from all sides. This dual capability lets a single appliance handle boiling, frying, grilling, roasting and baking without moving food between stations.
On the hob, four 5.5 kW burners and one 7 kW central burner each produce a self-stabilising flame that adjusts automatically to gas pressure changes, keeping the heat steady without manual intervention. The flame is shielded inside the burner body, reducing the risk of accidental extinguishing and making the stove safer to operate in a busy kitchen. Each burner has an adjustable power range, allowing precise control from a gentle simmer to a rapid boil. The cast-iron pan supports are sized to fit commercial dishwashers, and the layout allows pans up to 40 cm in diameter to be used without overhang.
The oven chamber is lined in stainless steel with an enamelled bottom for durability and easy cleaning. A 6 kW gas burner fires beneath the chamber, heating the air inside; a thermostatic control maintains the set temperature, with a safety valve and thermocouple cutting the gas if the flame fails. Piezo-electric ignition eliminates the need for a standing pilot, reducing gas consumption when the oven is not in use. Three GN 2/1 rack supports allow standard gastronorm trays to be loaded at different heights, giving flexibility for multiple dishes or large roasts.
The stove measures 800 mm front to back, 900 mm side to side and 850 mm high, fitting into a standard worktop run. The 1 mm stainless steel worktop is seamless, with joints aligned to prevent dirt traps. The unit weighs 106 kg, requiring two people or a trolley to move it into position. A 29 kW total power rating means the stove needs a dedicated gas line capable of supplying the full load without pressure drop, and the kitchen extract system must be sized to handle the combustion products from all burners running simultaneously.
Cleaning involves removing the pan supports and burner caps, which are dishwasher-safe, and wiping down the stainless steel surfaces with a non-abrasive cleaner. The oven chamber can be wiped out after each use, and the enamelled bottom resists staining from spills. The gas burners should be checked periodically for blockages, and the thermocouple and safety valve tested to ensure they cut the gas flow if the flame is extinguished.
The MAGISTRA PLUS 900 is available with a gas oven as standard; an electric oven variant with separate top and bottom heating elements is also listed in the MBM professional catering range.
