The sealed 6 mm ceramic top offers high cleaning comfort thanks to the flat surface and cleanability of the glass. It is watertight fixed to the worktop, preventing any liquid infiltration. 1 mm worktop in AISI 18/10 stainless steel. Excellent alignement with joints.
A ceramic hob heats by electric elements sealed beneath a smooth glass-ceramic surface. The elements radiate heat upwards, warming the pan directly while the surrounding surface stays cooler. This method gives fast, even heat and precise control without open flames or exposed coils.
Two separate cooking zones let the operator run different programmes at once. Each zone has its own three-step power selector, so one side can simmer while the other sears. Indicator lights show which zones are live, preventing accidental contact with hot surfaces.
To use, place the pan on the chosen zone, set the power level and wait for the light to confirm the element is active. The glass-ceramic surface conducts heat only where the pan sits, so spills outside the base do not burn on. When finished, turn the selector to zero and leave the zone to cool; the light stays on until the surface is safe to touch.
The hob is built as a single sheet of toughened glass-ceramic mounted in a stainless-steel frame. The frame lifts the glass clear of the worktop, allowing air to circulate underneath and preventing heat damage to the cabinet below.
Controls are two rotary switches, one for each zone. Each switch has three detented positions that correspond to low, medium and high power, plus an off position at the start of the rotation.
The 4.3 kW total load requires a 400 V three-phase plus earth supply, the standard circuit in professional kitchens for appliances above 3 kW. The 40 cm depth and 71.4 cm width fit a standard worktop cut-out, leaving room for adjacent sinks or refrigeration units. At 25 cm high, the hob sits flush with most worktops without needing additional support.
Cleaning is done with a damp cloth once the surface has cooled. The smooth glass-ceramic does not trap food or grease, and the stainless-steel frame wipes clean without scrubbing. No dismantling is needed; the elements are sealed and inaccessible.
The MVC74T is a single model with no variants.
This hob is listed in the MBM catalogue under Countertop Cooking Equipment, Ceramic Hobs.
