| NOTES | POWERED BY MAINS |
Electronic tap operated by an infrared sensor, powered by mains supply 230 V, for central water supply only.
An electronic faucet that delivers water only when needed, eliminating manual contact and reducing waste in busy kitchens. The sensor detects movement beneath the spout and opens the solenoid valve, allowing water to flow without the operator touching the tap. This method cuts the risk of cross-contamination and keeps the worktop around the sink cleaner.
Water flows for a fixed interval each time the sensor is triggered, then stops automatically. If the sensor remains covered, the tap will shut off after a longer period to prevent accidental flooding or deliberate misuse. Once every 24 hours, after the last use, the tap runs a brief flush cycle on its own. This cycle draws fresh water through the internal pipework, flushing out any stagnant water that could harbour bacteria.
The operator simply places hands or utensils beneath the spout; no buttons or levers are pressed. The sensor responds within a fraction of a second, and water is delivered at mains pressure. After the set flow time, the tap closes and waits for the next activation. If the sensor is obscured for longer than the safety period, the tap locks off until the obstruction is removed, then resets.
The body is constructed from a single casting of lead-free brass, finished in a satin chrome layer for corrosion resistance and easy cleaning. The sensor lens is set flush with the spout to prevent dirt build-up. An internal solenoid valve, powered directly from the mains supply, controls the water flow without relying on batteries or external transformers.
Controls are limited to the sensor itself; no manual override or temperature adjustment is provided. The mains connection means the tap is always ready to operate, without the need to monitor or replace batteries.
The 3-second flow time provides enough water for rinsing hands or small utensils without waste. The 13-second anti-vandal shut-off protects against accidental or deliberate flooding in public or staff areas. The automatic daily flush maintains water quality and reduces the risk of Legionella bacteria developing in the internal pipework.
The faucet is designed for standard UK sink outlets and connects to existing mains water and electrical supplies. It is listed in the MONOLITH professional tap catalogue under electronic hygiene fittings.
