An electronic faucet removes the need to touch taps with soiled hands. The infrared sensor detects movement beneath the spout and opens the valve automatically, releasing a controlled flow of water. When the hands move away, the valve closes, stopping the water without manual intervention. This method prevents cross-contamination and reduces water waste by running only when needed.
The operator stands at the basin and places hands under the spout. The sensor triggers the valve, and water flows at a preset temperature and pressure. The swinging high spout allows the stream to be directed into different parts of the basin or into larger containers without moving them. When the task is complete, the hands are withdrawn, and the flow stops instantly.
The faucet is constructed as a basin mixer with a single control body. The spout height of 200 mm provides clearance for filling pots and jugs. Flexible supply hoses are included for connection to existing plumbing. The unit is powered by mains 230 V, drawing current only when the valve is open, so it does not require a separate circuit in a standard commercial kitchen.
The infrared sensor is positioned beneath the spout and responds to movement within its detection zone. No additional controls are fitted; the flow rate and temperature are set during installation by adjusting the supply valves.
A height of 200 mm allows the spout to clear the rim of most commercial basins and small sinks, making it suitable for handwashing, rinsing vegetables, or filling containers that fit beneath it. The mains voltage requirement means the faucet connects to the same supply as other kitchen equipment, avoiding the need for special wiring.
Cleaning involves wiping the sensor window and spout with a damp cloth to remove splashes and deposits. The flexibles are accessible for periodic inspection and replacement if necessary.
