Neumarker Heart on a Stick Baking Plate for Waffles

A baking plate that forms waffle batter into heart shapes and embeds a stick in each one. The plate is heated from below by the waffle iron's element; when the batter is poured into the moulds, the heat cooks the outside while the centre stays soft. As the waffle sets, the stick becomes part of the shape, so each heart can be lifted and eaten without a plate or fork.

The operator pre-heats the waffle iron, brushes the moulds with oil, pours the batter into the four heart-shaped cavities, closes the lid and waits until the indicator shows the waffles are ready. The lid is opened, the hearts are lifted out by their sticks, and the next batch is started.

The plate is made of uncoated cast iron, which holds heat evenly and develops a natural non-stick surface over time. It weighs 16 kg, so it is moved with a trolley or two people.

Each waffle measures 135 mm across, 130 mm tall and 32 mm thick. The plate is designed for Neumarker waffle irons but is not compatible with Baking System II.

Cleaning is done with a stiff brush and hot water after each use; the plate is dried and lightly oiled to prevent rust.
