A revolving grill cooks food by rotating it slowly in front of a radiant heat source. The rollers turn continuously, exposing every side of the item to the same heat so that the outside browns evenly while the inside stays juicy. This method is used for kebabs, whole joints, poultry and large cuts that would be difficult to turn by hand on a flat grill or under a salamander.
The operator loads the food onto the five 460 mm rollers, sets the temperature up to 295 °C, and starts the motor. The rollers revolve steadily, carrying the food past the heating element. No manual turning is needed; the operator can attend to other tasks while the grill works. When the food reaches the desired colour and internal temperature, it is lifted off the rollers and served or held.
The RG5 is built with a stainless-steel body and five horizontal rollers. The controls consist of a temperature dial and a motor start switch. The 0.9 kW power rating indicates the load on the electrical circuit; the grill is designed for a 230 V single-phase supply, the standard in British commercial kitchens. The 560 mm length, 230 mm width and 180 mm height give a compact footprint that fits on most worktops or can be wall-mounted. The 8.5 kg weight allows one person to move the unit for cleaning or storage.
Cleaning involves removing food debris from the rollers after each use and wiping the stainless-steel surfaces with a damp cloth. The rollers can be lifted out for thorough cleaning when needed.
The RG5 is a single model with no variants. It is listed in the Neumarker catalogue under revolving grills.
