The heating elements are positioned above a wire grid, concentrating radiant heat precisely where food is placed. This approach browns, glazes, or melts toppings rapidly without altering the internal temperature, preserving texture and control. Its compact height allows installation beneath standard kitchen extraction hoods, making it a fixed worktop appliance rather than a standalone unit.
The Plate Detection System eliminates the need for manual operation. When a plate contacts the activation bar, the elements activate automatically; removing the plate turns them off. This design prevents energy waste and accidental overheating while enabling immediate response during busy service periods. A separate switch allows continuous operation for tasks that do not require frequent plate handling.
To operate, the user adjusts the temperature from warm-holding to full heat and selects the heating zone—left, right, or both. Plates are placed on the grid, triggering the PDS to start the elements. Once the dish is finished, removing the plate deactivates the heating. The grid, collecting tray, and activation bar are removable for cleaning, while the stainless steel casing resists grease build-up.
The casing and all removable components are made of stainless steel. The grid measures 495 by 375 millimetres, accommodating standard gastronorm plates. A crumb and juice tray beneath the grid captures drips and debris.
The grill has a 3 kilowatt power rating and operates on a 230 volt single-phase supply, matching standard UK commercial setups. Weighing 56 kilograms, it remains stable on a worktop yet is manageable for two people to lift during installation. Its dimensions of 600 by 640 millimetres suit most kitchen work surfaces without overhang.
Cleaning involves removing the grid, tray, and activation bar, washing them separately, then wiping the casing before reassembly. Routine maintenance includes wiping and occasional descaling if hard water is present.
This model includes the Plate Detection System as standard, with no additional variants or options.
