BHS stainless steel shelf for equipment placement. Durable construction, available in various sizes, manufactured according to individual drawings and projects.
A double wall shelf fixes directly to the wall, creating two horizontal surfaces that hold catering equipment, utensils or ingredients without taking up floor space. The shelf is supported by brackets bolted into the wall structure; the load is transferred through the brackets to the wall, so the strength of the fixings and the wall itself determine how much weight the shelf can carry safely. Stainless steel is used because it does not corrode, does not harbour bacteria and can be cleaned with strong detergents without damage.
The operator mounts the brackets first, ensuring they are level and securely anchored. The two shelves are then placed on the brackets and locked in position. Equipment is loaded from the front, keeping heavier items closer to the wall and lighter ones towards the edge to maintain balance. The 50 kg load rating applies to each shelf, so the total capacity is shared between the two surfaces.
Construction is stainless steel throughout, with two wall brackets and two shelves. The brackets are fixed to the wall with bolts; the shelves rest on the brackets and are secured with clips or screws to prevent movement.
The shelf measures 1100 mm wide, 500 mm deep and 666 mm high overall. The 1100 mm width provides space for two standard catering trays side by side or a single larger appliance. The 500 mm depth allows equipment to sit clear of the wall for ventilation and cleaning. The 666 mm height places the lower shelf at a comfortable working height and the upper shelf within easy reach for most operators.
Cleaning is straightforward: remove any loose items, wipe the shelves and brackets with a damp cloth and a mild detergent, then dry to prevent water spots. The stainless steel surface resists staining and does not require protective coatings or treatments.
Variants are available in different lengths and widths to match specific kitchen layouts. Custom sizes can be manufactured to individual drawings or project requirements.
The shelf is classified as professional catering storage equipment, typically found in the shelving and worktop accessories section of the catalogue.
