A double-tier wall shelf from Novameta provides fixed, accessible storage above the worktop in a professional kitchen. The unit mounts directly to the wall, keeping ingredients, utensils or small appliances within arm's reach without occupying floor space. Two horizontal shelves create separate levels, allowing the kitchen to organise items by frequency of use or by category—dry goods on the upper shelf, heavier tools on the lower one.
The shelf relies on the rigidity of its mounting and the strength of the materials to support the stated load. Each shelf is a flat, continuous surface without perforations, so it can hold containers of any shape and size up to the maximum dimensions. The vertical clearance between shelves is set by the overall height, giving enough room for standard catering containers and small appliances to sit without touching the shelf above.
Installation begins with marking the wall at the desired height, drilling pilot holes, and securing the shelf brackets with suitable fixings. Once the brackets are level and firmly attached, the shelves slide onto them and are locked in place. The operator then loads each shelf, starting with the heaviest items closest to the wall to maintain balance. Regular checks ensure the fixings remain tight and the shelves stay level under load.
Construction is stainless steel throughout, chosen for its resistance to corrosion, ease of cleaning and durability in a busy kitchen environment. The finish is smooth, with no sharp edges or crevices that could trap food debris or harbour bacteria.
The shelf measures 500 mm in width, 300 mm in depth and 666 mm in height. These dimensions define the footprint on the wall and the space available for stored items. The 40 kg load capacity per shelf dictates the maximum weight the shelf can safely hold, guiding the operator on what can be stored without risk of overloading.
Cleaning is straightforward: wipe the shelves with a damp cloth and a mild detergent, then dry to prevent water spots. The absence of moving parts or electrical components means there is no routine maintenance beyond checking the wall fixings periodically.
