A cooling counter keeps prepared food at safe holding temperatures without freezing it. The refrigeration system circulates cold air evenly across every shelf or drawer, so each portion stays at the same temperature from the moment it is loaded until it is served. This method prevents bacterial growth while preserving texture and moisture, making it essential for buffets, deli counters and prep stations where food must be held for hours but not chilled below freezing.
The operator loads the seven drawers with plated dishes, salads, desserts or other chilled items. Each drawer slides out on full-extension telescopic rails, giving clear access to the back without reaching or tilting. Once loaded, the electronic controller is set to the desired temperature between -5 and +8 °C. The unit then maintains that temperature automatically, defrosting and evaporating condensate without manual intervention. Adjustable feet level the counter on uneven floors, and the rounded internal corners prevent trapped food debris.
The entire structure is made of AISI 304 stainless steel, including the body, drawers and telescopic rails. Thermal insulation 50 mm thick surrounds the 361 litre interior, reducing energy consumption and keeping the external surface cool to the touch. A replaceable cooling monoblock simplifies maintenance, while the CE marking confirms compliance with European safety and performance standards.
The 230 V power requirement matches a standard single-phase kitchen circuit, and the 0.293 kW rating indicates a modest electrical load suitable for continuous operation. The 1300 × 700 × 900 mm footprint fits beneath most worktops or against a wall, leaving space for adjacent prep areas. The 361 litre volume allows bulk storage of chilled items across seven separate drawers, each with its own telescopic slide.
Cleaning involves removing the drawers, wiping the rounded corners and sanitising the rails. The replaceable monoblock can be serviced or exchanged without dismantling the entire unit. Adjustable feet should be checked periodically to keep the counter level and stable.
The P222 is a single model in the Novameta cooling-counter range, configured for 1300 mm width and seven drawers.
