A single wall shelf provides a fixed, open storage surface above the worktop without occupying floor space. The shelf is mounted directly to the wall with brackets, transferring the weight of stored items through the wall structure rather than through legs or a frame. This method keeps the area beneath the shelf clear for trolleys, bins or foot traffic, making it a standard solution in tight professional kitchens where every metre of floor counts.
The shelf is loaded from the front; there are no doors or sides to open. Items are placed directly on the flat surface, so the shelf suits dry goods, small equipment, containers and utensils that do not need protection from dust or grease. Because the shelf is open, air circulates freely around stored items, preventing condensation and keeping surfaces dry.
Construction is a single sheet of stainless steel folded at the front and rear to form a shallow lip. The lip prevents items from sliding off when the shelf is loaded or when the kitchen is busy. The rear lip also serves as the mounting point for the brackets, which are bolted through the lip into the wall. No additional supports are needed between the brackets, so the full 1600 mm width remains usable.
The shelf measures 1600 mm wide, 300 mm deep and 333 mm high. The 300 mm depth is typical for wall shelves in professional kitchens, allowing enough space for standard gastronorm containers or stacked plates while keeping the shelf within easy reach. The 333 mm height is the distance from the worktop below to the underside of the shelf, providing clearance for taller items stored on the worktop.
The shelf is rated to carry a distributed load of 40 kg. This rating means the shelf can hold 40 kg of evenly spread weight without permanent bending or damage to the wall fixings. The load capacity is sufficient for dry goods in bulk, stacked crockery or small appliances such as mixers or blenders.
Cleaning is straightforward: the stainless steel surface is wiped down with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The open construction means there are no corners or crevices where grease or debris can collect, so maintenance is quick and does not interrupt service.
