A single wall shelf fixed above a worktop or hob frees the counter below and keeps ingredients, utensils or plated dishes within arm's reach. The shelf is mounted on brackets that transfer the weight directly to the wall, so the load limit depends on the wall's strength and the fixings used, not on the shelf's own construction.
The shelf itself is a flat tray of stainless steel that resists corrosion, heat and moisture. Its raised rim stops items sliding off when the kitchen is busy, and the smooth surface is wiped clean in seconds. Because there are no moving parts, no motors and no electrical supply, the shelf needs no maintenance beyond routine cleaning.
To use it, the operator simply places items on the shelf. The 800 mm width allows two standard gastronorm trays to sit side by side, or a row of plated dishes. The 500 mm depth gives enough room for taller containers without overhanging the worktop below. The 330 mm height from the counter to the underside of the shelf clears most commercial mixers, blenders and bain-maries.
Construction is solid stainless steel throughout, with a continuous welded rim for strength. The shelf arrives ready to mount; brackets and fixings are chosen separately to suit the wall material.
The 40 kg load rating means the shelf can hold a full stock of tinned goods, a set of plated starters, or a row of heavy ceramic bowls without bending or sagging. This rating assumes the wall and fixings are capable of supporting the same weight; if the wall is plasterboard or studwork, additional support or a lower load may be needed.
Cleaning is straightforward: wipe the shelf with a damp cloth and mild detergent after each service. The stainless steel surface resists staining and does not absorb odours, so no special treatment is required.
The Novameta single wall shelf is listed in the catalogue under Worktop Accessories, alongside brackets, rails and splashbacks.
