Stainless steel surface for
work table, made of AISI 304.
A stainless steel table top provides a hygienic, durable work surface in professional kitchens, bakeries and food preparation areas. The flat, seamless metal sheet resists corrosion, withstands frequent cleaning and supports heavy loads without warping or cracking. Unlike wooden or laminate tops, stainless steel does not absorb liquids, odours or bacteria, making it the standard for environments where food safety is critical. The smooth surface allows ingredients, utensils and equipment to slide easily, reducing strain on staff during long shifts.
This Novameta table top is designed for continuous use in busy catering operations. The pressed sandwich construction combines a rigid core with stainless steel sheets on both sides, creating a strong, stable platform that resists dents and flexing. The low-noise design reduces vibration and rattling when equipment is placed or moved across the surface, improving the working environment in open kitchens or preparation areas.
The table top measures 1200 mm in length, 600 mm in depth and 40 mm in height, providing ample space for food preparation, plating or holding small appliances. It is installed directly onto a supporting frame or existing workbench, creating a seamless extension of the kitchen workspace. The standard width of 650 mm can be increased to 700 mm for additional surface area, with both options available at different price points.
The stainless steel surface is easy to clean and maintain. Spills and food debris can be wiped away with a damp cloth and mild detergent, while deeper cleaning with sanitising solutions removes grease and bacteria without damaging the metal. The pressed construction prevents moisture from seeping into the core, avoiding swelling or delamination over time. Regular cleaning with non-abrasive pads and stainless steel polish keeps the surface looking new and prevents staining from acidic or salty ingredients.
For kitchens with specific requirements, Novameta offers customisation options. Non-standard shapes, curved edges, integrated sinks, drainage channels and cut-outs for taps or hobs can be designed and manufactured to match individual layouts. Shelves, trolleys and other supporting structures can also be produced to create a fully integrated workstation. Customers are invited to submit sketches or specifications to discuss bespoke solutions.
The table top is suitable for use in restaurants, hotels, cafés, bakeries and institutional kitchens where a robust, easy-to-clean surface is essential. Its dimensions and construction make it compatible with most standard kitchen frames and under-counter equipment, allowing for flexible installation in new or existing setups.
