Stainless steel surface for work table, made of AISI 304.
A stainless steel table top provides a hygienic, hard-wearing surface for food preparation, plating and assembly in professional kitchens. The metal conducts heat away from hot pans and resists cuts, stains and corrosion, while the smooth finish allows quick cleaning between tasks. This Novameta unit is designed as a fixed worktop that bolts to existing bases or legs, creating a seamless run of counter space without gaps where debris can collect.
The pressed sandwich construction combines two sheets of stainless steel with a reinforcing core. This method stiffens the panel so it does not sag under the weight of heavy equipment or repeated chopping, and it dampens vibration and noise from dropped utensils or clattering pans. The result is a stable, quiet surface that supports continuous use without flexing or drumming.
To install, position the table top on the chosen base, align the edges and secure it with the supplied fasteners. The 1300 mm length suits a standard run of kitchen units, while the 600 mm depth leaves room for equipment at the back and still allows staff to reach across comfortably. Once fixed, the top is ready for immediate use: load ingredients, tools or plated dishes directly onto the surface without additional trays or boards.
The stainless steel finish is non-porous and resistant to acids, alkalis and most cleaning chemicals, so it does not absorb odours or harbour bacteria. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and mild detergent after each service, and sanitise it with a food-safe disinfectant at the end of the day. For stubborn marks, a stainless steel cleaner restores the original lustre without scratching. The pressed construction means there are no seams or crevices to trap food particles, so maintenance is limited to the flat surface and the edges where it meets the base.
Novameta offers this table top in two widths: 650 mm with a 3% manufacturing tolerance, and 700 mm with a 5% tolerance. Both versions share the same 1300 mm length and 40 mm height, and both use the same heavy-duty pressed sandwich construction. Custom designs are also available; send a sketch of the required shape, openings, curves or integrated sinks to the manufacturer for a bespoke quotation.
The 40 mm height is standard for commercial worktops, allowing it to integrate with most existing kitchen furniture and equipment. The footprint of 1300 by 600 mm fits within the dimensions of a typical kitchen module, so it can be added to an existing run without reconfiguring the entire layout. The low weight relative to its size means it can be lifted and positioned by two people without specialist equipment, yet it remains stable once installed.
