A wall-mounted taunted table creates a fixed work surface that clears floor space beneath, letting staff move freely while keeping essential tools within reach. The tabletop is secured directly to the wall at the back and supported by legs or a frame at the front, so it bears weight without sagging or shifting. This design is common in professional kitchens where every metre of floor must be kept clear for trolleys, bins and foot traffic, yet the worktop itself must stay level and stable under heavy loads.
The operator loads the table by placing ingredients, utensils or small equipment on the top, distributing weight evenly across the surface. Because the table is fixed to the wall, there is no risk of it tipping or sliding, even when fully loaded. The front edge can be fitted with an upstand to prevent items rolling off, or left open for easier cleaning and access. Once loaded, the table remains in place until the work is finished, at which point the operator removes items and cleans the surface.
Construction is a pressed sandwich panel for the tabletop, chosen for its rigidity and resistance to dents and moisture. The frame is welded from stainless steel tube measuring 25 by 50 mm, giving strength without adding unnecessary weight. The entire unit is mounted to the wall with brackets or bolts, ensuring the load is transferred directly to the building structure rather than relying on legs alone.
The tabletop is available in two widths: 650 mm with a tolerance of plus 3%, or 700 mm with a tolerance of plus 5%. Depth is 900 mm and overall height is 750 mm. Maximum uniform load capacity is 120 kg, meaning the weight must be spread evenly across the surface rather than concentrated in one spot. The footprint of 900 by 600 mm (or 700 mm) indicates the space the table occupies on the floor, while the height of 750 mm matches standard worktop levels in professional kitchens.
Cleaning is straightforward: the pressed sandwich top can be wiped down with standard kitchen sanitiser, and the stainless steel frame resists corrosion and staining. Because the table is wall-mounted, the floor beneath remains clear for sweeping or mopping. The welded frame has no joints or crevices where dirt can accumulate, and the optional upstand, if fitted, can be removed for thorough cleaning.
Variants include the table with or without an upstand, allowing the operator to choose between a continuous barrier at the front edge or an open design for easier access.
