BHS stainless steel shelf for equipment placement. Durable construction, available in various sizes, manufactured according to individual drawings and projects.
A wall-mounted shelf creates a secure work surface that keeps heavy catering appliances off the floor and within easy reach of the operator. The shelf is fixed to the wall with brackets, transferring the load directly to the building structure rather than relying on legs or a base that could shift or obstruct the floor space beneath. This arrangement leaves the floor clear for cleaning, reduces trip hazards and allows trolleys or mobile equipment to pass freely underneath. Because the shelf is open on all sides, air circulates around the equipment, preventing heat build-up and making it simpler to wipe down both the shelf and the appliances after use.
The operator positions the shelf at the desired height, attaches the three supplied brackets to the wall, then lifts the shelf onto the brackets and secures it. Once in place, the shelf holds up to 50 kg of equipment such as mixers, blenders, portion scales or heated bain-maries. The flat, uninterrupted surface allows appliances to be slid into position without obstruction, and the 2100 mm length accommodates multiple units side by side or a single long appliance such as a slicer or conveyor.
The shelf is constructed from stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to moisture, corrosion and repeated cleaning with commercial detergents. The material does not absorb odours or harbour bacteria, meeting the hygiene standards required in food production and professional kitchens. The three-bracket design distributes the load evenly across the wall fixings, preventing sagging or twisting under weight.
Controls are limited to the mechanical fixings: wall plugs and screws secure the brackets, and the shelf itself is bolted to the brackets. No electrical or programmable elements are present.
A load capacity of 50 kg determines which appliances can be placed on the shelf without risk of overloading. The 2100 mm length provides a continuous work surface that can support several medium-sized units or one large appliance, while the 300 mm depth offers enough space for equipment feet or cable management without encroaching on the aisle behind. The 333 mm height from the wall to the front edge ensures that appliances sit level and stable, with no risk of tipping forward.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless steel surface with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then drying to prevent water spots. The open underside allows access for mopping the floor beneath, and the absence of legs or supports means no corners or crevices collect dirt. The brackets and fixings should be checked periodically for tightness, especially after heavy use or movement of equipment.
Variants include different lengths and widths to suit specific kitchen layouts. Custom sizes can be manufactured to individual drawings or project specifications, allowing the shelf to fit around existing services or into irregular spaces.
The shelf is categorised under storage and support equipment for professional catering and food production environments.
