To help the portioning of foods, the trolley is equipped with a folding side shelf.
A refrigerated serving trolley keeps prepared dishes at safe holding temperatures while they are wheeled from the kitchen to the dining area. Instead of relying on a compressor, this trolley uses chilling packs placed inside the stainless-steel well. The packs absorb heat from the well, slowing the rise in food temperature without electricity or moving parts. The hemispherical plexiglass dome traps the cooled air around the dishes, reducing exposure to room air each time the dome is opened. Two side panels swing outwards, giving servers clear access to the well without lifting the entire dome off the trolley.
The operator loads the well with the GN containers—one full-size GN1/1 and two third-size GN1/3—then places the chilling packs around them. The folding side shelf is swung out to hold plates, cutlery or condiments during service. When the trolley is ready, the dome is closed and the castors are unlocked so the unit can be moved to the dining room. Throughout service, the drain cock at the base of the well allows any condensation or spillage to be drawn off without removing the containers.
The trolley is built on a solid-wood frame finished in natural, walnut or wenge, with optional bespoke colours. The well is made of AISI 304 stainless steel, 16 cm deep, and sits flush with the worktop. A display grid keeps the containers elevated above any meltwater from the chilling packs. Four castors—two with brakes—support the 76 kg unit, allowing it to be positioned securely at the point of service.
Controls are limited to the castor brakes and the drain cock. The chilling packs are pre-frozen in a standard freezer and inserted before service; no thermostat or power switch is required.
A capacity of one GN1/1 and two GN1/3 containers gives space for a main course plus two side dishes or starters. The 1160 mm worktop provides room for plating directly from the trolley, while the 645–840 mm width allows it to pass through standard kitchen doorways. The 76 kg weight ensures stability during movement but still allows one person to manoeuvre the trolley when the castors are unlocked.
Cleaning involves removing the GN containers and display grid, wiping the stainless-steel well with a damp cloth, and drying the chilling packs before refreezing. The plexiglass dome can be cleaned with a mild detergent and soft cloth to avoid scratching.
Optional extras include retaining bars in stainless steel to secure taller items, bespoke graphics stickers for branding, and additional chilling packs for extended service. The trolley can also be fitted with GN containers if required, though these are not included as standard.
The product is listed in the ROCAM catalogue under refrigerated serving equipment.
