ROCAM ATHENA 4-Piece Halogen Heated Countertop for Buffet Service

The ROCAM ATHENA heated countertop keeps food at serving temperature using radiant heat from three halogen lamps. This method warms food surfaces directly, helping to retain moisture and texture while ensuring plates and trays stay hot. A tempered glass top spreads heat evenly, and a rear mirror reflects warmth, maintaining a steady temperature across the buffet area.

The unit connects to a 230 V supply and reaches full heat quickly. Temperature can be adjusted between 0° and +90° using a control dial. Gastronorm trays or plated dishes are placed on the glass surface, with the three lamps positioned to eliminate cold spots. A fixed plexiglass sneeze guard protects food from airborne particles while allowing clear visibility. LED lighting beneath the guard enhances presentation without adding extra heat.

Constructed from laminated wood, the unit resists warping in humid kitchen conditions. The mirrored rear panel creates an impression of space, making the buffet appear larger. The toughened glass top supports the weight of multiple gastronorm trays and serving utensils. Two polyamide wheels with brakes enable easy movement and secure positioning, while the dimensions of 1499 mm by 747 mm suit standard buffet layouts.

With a power rating of 2.393 kW, the unit requires a dedicated electrical connection. The temperature range of 0° to +90° is suitable for holding most hot dishes but does not support cooking or reheating. At 175 kg, the unit should be positioned before loading with food, as it cannot be moved easily once stocked.

The glass top can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent, while halogen lamps should be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth. The plexiglass sneeze guard is removable for thorough cleaning, and laminated wood surfaces can be sanitised. Wheels should be checked regularly for debris.

Customisation includes a choice of finishes for the laminated wood structure, from neutral shades like white sand and grey fog to vibrant colours such as saffron and ocean. Optional accessories for the short side include foldable dish holders in laminated wood or stainless steel, removable tray slides, and lower closures with doors. Reinforced steel castors with brakes are available for mobility, and a contrasting Formica worktop can be added for a tailored appearance. The unit can also accommodate refrigerated modules or an upper shelf for additional storage.
