ROCAM HELIOS 2/1 FLEX P2 Heating Plate with Dual Infrared Lamps

A stainless steel carving station designed to keep plated dishes at serving temperature without drying or overcooking. The HELIOS 2/1 FLEX P2 uses two flexible infrared lamps to direct radiant heat precisely where it is needed. Infrared energy warms the surface of the food rather than the surrounding air, so the texture and moisture stay intact while the temperature rises to the set point. The lamps pivot on chromed tubes, allowing the operator to angle the heat over different sections of the plate or to shield delicate items from direct exposure.

The sequence begins by placing the plated dishes on the GN 2/1 warming plate. The mechanical thermostat is set between +30 °C and +90 °C; an indicator light confirms the plate is heating. Each infrared lamp has its own switch, so one or both can be lit according to the load. The acrylic sneezeguard sits above the plate to prevent accidental contact while still allowing a clear view of the food.

Construction is AISI 304 stainless steel for the frame and warming plate, with chromed flexible tubes supporting the lampshades. The lamps themselves are available in white or red infrared variants, and the warming plate can be ordered with a porcelain stoneware covering in either lava or oxide finish for a different thermal response.

Controls are straightforward: a rotary thermostat for the plate temperature, an indicator light, and two independent rocker switches for the lamps. The 1.25 kW power rating reflects the combined load of the warming plate and both lamps, suitable for a standard 230 V single-phase circuit. The 22 kg weight allows the unit to be moved with a trolley but is stable enough to remain in place during service. Footprint of 660 × 621 mm fits a standard GN 2/1 counter space, and the 913 mm overall height clears most worktop sneezeguards.

Cleaning follows from the materials: stainless steel surfaces wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent; the acrylic sneezeguard can be removed for thorough washing. The porcelain stoneware coverings, if fitted, are dishwasher-safe. Infrared lamps should be allowed to cool before handling, and the chromed tubes can be wiped with a soft cloth to prevent fingerprints.

Optional accessories include a porcelain stoneware covering in GN 1/1 size for the hot plate and a UK plug variant. The red infrared lamp variant is also available as an upgrade.
