| NOTES | Refrigerant gas: R290 |
2 GN 1/1
A refrigerated countertop drop-in unit holds two gastronorm 1/1 containers at serving temperature without breaking the worktop line. The ROCAM DROP-IN-2PR-IN sits flush into a cut-out, leaving the stainless steel surface unbroken for food preparation or plating alongside chilled storage.
Static refrigeration draws heat from the stored containers through a compressor-driven cycle. The refrigerant gas, R290, circulates through coils beneath the cavity, absorbing warmth and expelling it at the rear. A digital thermostat regulates the compressor to maintain the set temperature, keeping food within the safe chilled range without freezing.
To use the unit, the operator slides two GN 1/1 containers into the cavity from above. The digital thermostat is set to the desired temperature between +2 °C and +10 °C. Once the unit reaches the set point, the compressor cycles on and off automatically to maintain the temperature. The containers remain accessible from the top, allowing staff to retrieve or replenish items without opening a door or disrupting the work surface.
The construction is a moulded stainless steel worktop with rounded edges for hygiene and durability. The refrigeration system is either built-in or configured for remote installation, depending on the chosen variant. The unit operates on a 230 V supply, drawing 0.330 kW under standard conditions, with additional load if LED lighting is fitted.
Controls consist of a digital thermostat that sets and displays the cavity temperature. The temperature range of +2 °C to +10 °C suits chilled storage of prepared foods, salads, desserts, or ingredients that require refrigeration but not freezing.
The external dimensions of 846 mm wide, 747 mm deep, and 471 mm high allow the unit to fit into a standard worktop cut-out, with a top opening of 650 mm by 521 mm to accommodate two GN 1/1 containers. The weight of 27 kg makes it manageable for two people to lift into place during installation.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless steel worktop and cavity with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The rounded edges prevent dirt accumulation, and the static refrigeration system avoids the need for fan cleaning. The removable display grid, if fitted, can be taken out for thorough cleaning.
Variants include a standard built-in refrigeration unit or a remote refrigeration option for installations where the compressor is located elsewhere. Additional options such as LED lighting, tempered glass sneeze-guards, or spacers for GN tanks can be specified to tailor the unit to the kitchen layout.
The unit is categorised as a countertop refrigeration solution for professional catering environments, designed to integrate seamlessly into work surfaces while providing accessible chilled storage.
