A bread slicer divides loaves into even slices by drawing a blade through the bread while it is held steady. The blade moves in a continuous loop, powered by an electric motor, so each slice emerges at the same thickness without crushing the crumb. This method preserves the structure of the loaf and produces slices that stack neatly for sandwiches, toast or plating. The width of the cutting chamber determines the largest loaf the machine can accept; a wider chamber allows larger loaves to be sliced whole.
To operate the ROLLMATIC MG-G42, the operator places the loaf on the carriage, adjusts the slice thickness with the control knob, and starts the motor. The carriage advances automatically, pushing the loaf against the blade. Once the cut is complete, the carriage returns to the loading position and the sliced loaf is removed from the exit tray. The process repeats for each loaf without manual intervention beyond loading and unloading.
The MG-G42 is built with a stainless-steel frame and cutting chamber. The blade is a continuous band that runs on two pulleys, one driven by the motor. A transparent safety guard covers the blade during operation, and the carriage is guided by rails to keep the loaf aligned with the blade.
The control panel includes a power switch, a start button, an emergency stop and a knob to set slice thickness. The knob adjusts the distance the carriage travels between cuts, allowing the operator to choose from thin sandwich slices to thicker toast slices.
The 400 V 3-phase power supply is standard for commercial kitchens with heavy equipment, providing the current needed for continuous operation without overloading a single-phase circuit. The 98 kg weight ensures the machine stays stable on the worktop during slicing, reducing vibration and movement. The footprint of 555 mm by 658 mm fits on most bakery worktops while leaving space for loaf preparation and collection.
Cleaning involves removing the safety guard and wiping the blade, carriage and chamber with a damp cloth. The blade should be sharpened periodically to maintain a clean cut. The transparent guard can be washed separately to keep the viewing area clear.
The MG-G42 is supplied as a single model with a 420 mm cutting width, allowing whole loaves up to that width to be sliced in one pass.
This slicer is listed in the ROLLMATIC professional bakery equipment catalogue under bread preparation machines.
