double-sized smooth griddle with two switches
A contact grill presses food between two heated surfaces, transferring heat directly from both sides at once. This method cooks faster than an open grill or griddle, sealing in moisture while creating an even crust. The upper plate floats on the food, adjusting to different thicknesses without crushing delicate items like fish or vegetables. Heat spreads uniformly across the cast iron plates, eliminating cold spots that can leave some portions undercooked while others burn. The result is consistent texture and colour across every batch, whether grilling burgers, paninis or steaks for a busy service period.
To use the GRL-10, the operator lifts the height-adjustable cover, places food on the lower corrugated plate, then lowers the cover until it rests gently on the surface. The brake holds the cover in position, preventing it from bouncing or shifting during cooking. The adjustable thermostat is set to the desired temperature, and the grill heats until the indicator shows it is ready. Once the food is cooked, the cover is raised, and the items are removed with a spatula. The front frying pan collects any juices or crumbs that fall during cooking, keeping the worktop clean.
The grill is built with a stainless steel housing that resists corrosion and stands up to daily cleaning. The upper and lower baking surfaces are made of cast iron alloy, chosen for its ability to retain and distribute heat evenly. The corrugated pattern on both plates creates grill marks and helps excess fat drain away from the food. The thermostat allows precise control up to 250 °C, covering the range needed for searing meats, toasting sandwiches or grilling vegetables.
The 2.1 kW power rating means the grill draws a steady load on a dedicated 230 V circuit, typical of professional kitchen installations. The 22 kg weight provides stability on the worktop while still allowing the unit to be moved by two people when needed. The footprint of 690 mm wide by 380 mm deep fits standard worktop depths, leaving space for other equipment alongside. The 550 x 245 mm plate size accommodates multiple portions at once, reducing the number of batches required during peak service.
Cleaning involves wiping the cast iron plates with a damp cloth once they have cooled, then applying a thin layer of oil to prevent rust. The stainless steel housing is wiped down with a mild detergent solution, and the front frying pan is removed and emptied after each use. The height-adjustable cover is cleaned in the same way as the plates, ensuring no food residue builds up on the corrugated surface.
The GRL-10 is a double-sized contact grill designed for professional catering environments, placed in the catalogue under commercial grilling equipment.
