SCANDOMESTIC 488 L Dual-Temperature Display Freezer

A refrigerated display unit that switches between chilled and frozen storage keeps goods visible and accessible while maintaining the required temperature. The evaporator coil removes heat from the cabinet, and a thermostat cycles the compressor to hold the set point. In cooling mode the air stays above freezing, preserving fresh produce and dairy; in freezing mode the coil runs colder, locking in ice-cream and pre-packaged frozen meals. A single unit that does both eliminates the need for separate chillers and freezers in the same floor space.

The operator loads the goods onto the wire baskets, sets the desired temperature on the digital controller, and closes the sliding curved glass lids. The LED lighting comes on automatically, illuminating the interior evenly so every item is clearly visible. The glass lids slide smoothly on their narrow frames, giving full access without breaking the cold seal. Two temperature ranges are available: 0 °C to +8 °C for chilled display, and -18 °C to -24 °C for frozen storage.

The cabinet is built with a grey exterior and a white interior of coated galvanised steel. The door and lid frames are black, while the shelf and drawer edges are white. Five wire baskets are supplied, allowing different product groups to be separated and organised. The unit stands on four castors, two of which have brakes to hold it securely in place once positioned.

A 488 litre volume provides ample space for a variety of goods, while the external dimensions of 880 mm wide, 1580 mm deep and 736 mm high fit through standard doorways and into most retail floor plans. The internal measurements of 579 mm by 1386 mm by 546 mm give a clear shelf area of 0.70 square metres for product display. A gross weight of 82 kg and a net weight of 73 kg mean the unit can be moved by two people using the castors.

The voltage requirement of 220-240 V at 50 Hz matches the standard single-phase supply in British commercial premises. The refrigerant R290 is a hydrocarbon with a low environmental impact, used here in a quantity that complies with safety regulations. The LED interior light operates at 6500 Kelvin, producing a bright, cool white that shows products in their true colours.

Cleaning involves wiping the interior surfaces with a mild detergent solution, removing the wire baskets to wash them separately. The glass lids slide out for thorough cleaning, and the castors can be wiped down to keep them rolling smoothly. The digital controller is kept dry, and the exterior is wiped with a damp cloth to maintain its appearance.
