A champagne bucket holds ice around a bottle to keep sparkling wine or other drinks chilled without diluting them. The ice surrounds the bottle, drawing heat away through the metal walls, while the narrow opening at the top slows melting and keeps the ice in place. This method maintains the drink at serving temperature for extended service without refrigeration.
To use the bucket, fill it with ice to the level of the bottle's shoulder, then lower the bottle into the centre. The ice should reach just below the wine level to chill the contents evenly. The bucket's height allows it to hold standard champagne bottles upright, while its diameter provides enough space for ice to circulate around the bottle without overcrowding.
The bucket is constructed from stainless steel, which conducts heat efficiently to chill the bottle quickly and resists corrosion from moisture and ice. Its smooth surface allows easy cleaning after use, with no seams or crevices to trap residue.
With a 4.5 litre volume, the bucket accommodates one standard champagne bottle and sufficient ice to maintain temperature for several hours. The dimensions—200 mm diameter and 205 mm height—fit on a bar counter, sideboard or table without taking excessive space, while the weight remains light enough to move when filled.
Cleaning involves rinsing the bucket with warm water after each use to remove ice residue and prevent mineral deposits. A mild detergent can be used for more thorough cleaning, followed by drying to prevent water spots on the stainless steel surface.
