The principle is simple: smokers tap ash into the upper opening, which falls into the liner, while staff deposit rubbish through a side opening that leads directly to the lower compartment. The liner can be lifted out for emptying without moving the whole unit, reducing the time spent on cleaning rounds. Because the bin is integrated, there is no need for a separate ashtray and waste receptacle, saving space in areas where both are required.

To use the unit, place it on a level floor near an exit or designated smoking area. Open the side door to insert a rubbish bag into the lower compartment, then close the door to secure it. The top opening remains uncovered, allowing ash to fall directly into the liner. When the liner is full, lift it out, empty the contents, and replace it. The side door can also be opened to remove the rubbish bag when the lower compartment is full.

The body is powder-coated steel, which resists chipping and corrosion in high-traffic areas. The non-slip rubber base is bonded to the bottom, providing grip without marking the floor. The diameter of 200 mm gives the unit a compact footprint, while the height of 700 mm places the ashtray opening at a comfortable level for most users.

The 15 L volume allows the bin to hold a full shift's worth of rubbish in a busy kitchen or staff area, reducing the frequency of emptying. The non-slip base and powder-coated finish protect both the unit and the floor from damage, extending the lifespan of both.

Cleaning involves removing the liner, emptying it, and wiping the interior with a damp cloth. The powder-coated exterior can be cleaned with mild detergent and water, avoiding abrasive pads that could scratch the finish. The rubber base should be wiped occasionally to remove dust and debris that could reduce its grip.
