Banquet table fork, L 200 mm
A banquet table fork is a serving utensil used to portion and present food directly from large platters or chafing dishes to individual plates. Unlike standard cutlery, it is sized for reach and control when serving multiple portions without transferring food to a separate serving spoon or tongs. The extended length allows the operator to keep a safe distance from hot surfaces and to manoeuvre around steam or splashes while maintaining a firm grip on the handle.
To use the fork, the operator holds the handle and lowers the tines into the food, lifting a portion with a gentle scooping or spearing motion. The fork is then transferred to the guest's plate, where the food is released by tilting or shaking the tines. The process is repeated for each serving, allowing quick and consistent portioning during service.
The fork is constructed from stainless steel, a material chosen for its resistance to corrosion, staining and high temperatures. Stainless steel also withstands repeated washing and sanitising without warping or losing its finish, making it suitable for environments where hygiene and durability are critical.
The 200 mm length provides the reach needed to serve from deep or wide containers while keeping the operator's hands clear of edges and hot surfaces. This size is standardised for banquet service, ensuring compatibility with most serving dishes and chafing units used in professional settings.
Cleaning is straightforward: the fork is washed in hot water with detergent, rinsed and sanitised after each use. The smooth surface and absence of crevices prevent food particles from adhering, reducing the risk of cross-contamination. Regular inspection for bends or dulling ensures the fork remains effective and safe for service.
