A bottle opener removes metal caps from glass bottles by levering the edge of the cap over the rim of the bottle. The curved lip of the opener catches under the cap, and downward pressure on the handle bends the metal until it breaks the seal and lifts away. This method relies on the strength of the opener's metal and the leverage the handle provides, allowing the operator to open bottles quickly without damaging the bottle or the cap's edge.
To use the opener, the operator places the curved lip under the edge of the bottle cap. The bottle is held steady on the worktop or in the other hand, and the handle is pressed down firmly. The cap pops off in one motion, leaving the bottle ready to pour. The process takes only a second and requires no additional tools or adjustments.
The opener is made from a single piece of metal, shaped to provide the necessary leverage and strength. Its compact size allows it to be stored in a drawer, mounted on a wall bracket, or carried in a pocket during service.
The 127 mm length gives the opener enough reach to grip the cap securely while keeping the handle short enough for comfortable use in a busy bar. The size also makes it easy to handle when opening multiple bottles in quick succession.
Cleaning is straightforward: the metal surface can be wiped with a damp cloth or washed in warm soapy water. The simple construction means there are no moving parts to trap dirt or require lubrication.
