Cast-iron serving dish with a wooden trivet for the professional presentation of hot dishes. Keeps food hot for a long time, providing attractive and efficient service in restaurants, cafés and hotels.
A cast iron frying pan distributes and holds heat evenly across its thick base and walls. The metal absorbs thermal energy from the hob and releases it slowly, keeping food warm long after it leaves the heat source. This property makes it suitable for both cooking and serving, as the pan continues to radiate heat at the table without further power.
The operator heats the pan on any hob, adds oil or fat, and cooks food directly in it. Once the dish is ready, the pan is transferred to the wooden trivet supplied, which insulates the table surface from the hot metal. The pan remains on the trivet throughout the meal, maintaining the temperature of the food without scorching the table.
The pan is formed from cast iron, giving it a dense, heavy structure that resists warping. Its surface is treated with a black firing process that creates a natural non-stick layer. A wooden trivet is included, providing a stable base for table service.
The pan measures 210 mm by 150 mm with a depth of 55 mm, giving a volume of 0.8 litres. These dimensions suit small to medium portions, allowing the pan to move easily from hob to table.
To maintain the cast iron surface, the pan should be cleaned with minimal detergent and dried thoroughly. Periodic oiling with cooking oil restores the protective layer and prevents rust. The wooden trivet requires occasional wiping with a damp cloth and should not be submerged in water.
The pan is compatible with all types of hobs and can be used in ovens, making it versatile for both cooking and serving applications.
