A chafing dish keeps prepared food at serving temperature without cooking it further. This unit holds two full-size GN 1/1 gastronorm pans above a heated water bath. The water is warmed by a low-wattage element, creating a gentle, even heat that rises through the pan bases. Because the food never touches the heat source, it stays moist and is protected from scorching or drying out.
To use the dish, fill the lower compartment with water to the marked level. Place the two GN 1/1 pans on the supports, ensuring they sit level. Plug the unit into a 230 V single-phase supply and set the temperature control to the desired holding range between 6 °C and 12 °C. The water warms, the heat transfers to the pans, and the food inside reaches and maintains the chosen temperature. A clear lid can be fitted to reduce heat loss and keep the food visible.
The construction is entirely stainless steel, chosen for corrosion resistance and easy cleaning. The exterior panels, pan supports and water tank are all made from the same material, giving a uniform appearance and durability under constant use. The footprint of 920 mm by 735 mm fits standard worktop depths and allows side-by-side placement with other buffet equipment.
Controls consist of a single rotary dial that selects the holding temperature within the 6 °C to 12 °C range. The setting is marked on the panel and is simple to adjust during service.
The 0.24 kW power rating means the unit draws minimal current, so it can share a circuit with other low-demand appliances without overloading. The 230 V, 50 Hz voltage matches standard UK commercial supplies, requiring only a standard plug or a fixed connection to a nearby socket.
The 920 mm length provides space for two full-size gastronorm pans, allowing separate dishes to be held at the same temperature. The 880 mm height keeps the pans at a comfortable serving level for guests or staff. The stainless steel finish resists fingerprints and spills, and can be wiped down with a damp cloth after each service. The water tank should be emptied and rinsed daily to prevent scale build-up.
The dish is supplied as a single unit for 2 GN 1/1 pans. No additional pans or lids are included.
This chafing dish is listed in the Stalgast buffet and holding equipment section.
