A chafing dish fuel canister generates steady, smokeless heat by burning a clean-burning gel or liquid fuel inside a sealed metal cup. The flame sits beneath the water pan of a chafing dish, warming the water which in turn transfers gentle, even heat to the food above. Because the system requires no electricity, it is portable and can be placed anywhere on a buffet line or outdoor catering table.
To use, the operator removes the lid from the canister, places it in the fuel holder beneath the chafing dish, and lights the wick. The flame burns at a controlled rate, maintaining the water temperature without direct contact with the food. Once lit, the canister will provide heat for the stated duration; when the fuel is exhausted, the flame extinguishes itself. A single canister is typically sufficient for one chafing dish during a service period.
Each Stalgast canister is a sealed metal cup containing 200 ml of fuel. The construction is designed to prevent spills and to ensure a consistent burn rate throughout the stated duration.
The single control is the lighting of the wick; no adjustment is required during operation.
A 200 ml volume provides enough fuel for a burn time of up to four hours, allowing a full service period without refuelling. The compact size of the canister fits standard chafing-dish fuel holders and takes minimal storage space in a catering store cupboard.
Cleaning and upkeep are limited to ensuring the fuel holder is free of debris before inserting a new canister and storing unused canisters in a cool, dry place away from open flames.
The product is supplied as individual 200 ml canisters.
These canisters are compatible with all standard chafing dishes that use gel or liquid fuel canisters of this size.
