A citrus juicer extracts juice from oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruits by pressing halved fruit against a ridged cone. The cone spins while the operator applies downward pressure, forcing the juice through the fruit's pulp and membranes. The ridges on the cone break open the juice sacs, releasing the liquid without shredding the bitter pith. A spout directs the juice into a container below, while a strainer catches seeds and large pulp fragments, giving a clean, ready-to-serve product.
To operate, the operator places a halved citrus fruit on the cone, lowers the lever or press arm, and holds it until the juice stops flowing. The arm is released, the spent fruit is removed, and the next half is positioned. The process repeats until the required volume is reached. The strainer is lifted out periodically to empty the collected seeds and pulp.
The Stalgast citrus juicer is constructed from stainless steel and food-grade plastic components. The cone and strainer are removable for cleaning, and the base is designed to sit securely on a worktop without slipping during use.
The footprint of 185 mm by 225 mm allows it to fit on crowded worktops or shelves, while the 710 mm height provides comfortable operation without bending. The unit is moved by lifting the base, and its compact size allows it to be stored in a cupboard or on a shelf when not in use.
Cleaning involves rinsing the cone, strainer and juice spout after each service to prevent pulp from drying and clogging the parts. The stainless steel surfaces are wiped down with a damp cloth, and the plastic components are washed with warm water and mild detergent. The strainer and cone are dishwasher-safe for thorough sanitisation.
