A coffee spoon is the small, calibrated utensil that doses ground coffee into the portafilter basket with consistent volume. The bowl of the spoon holds a single measure of coffee, allowing the barista to fill the basket evenly without over- or under-dosing. This precision controls extraction time and flavour balance across every shot pulled from the espresso machine.
The operator scoops the ground coffee from the dosing chamber or grinder spout, levels the spoon against the rim, and taps it lightly to settle the dose. A quick wrist motion transfers the coffee into the portafilter basket, where it is distributed and tamped before brewing. The short handle keeps the hand close to the work surface, reducing spillage and improving control.
Constructed in inox 18/0 stainless steel, the spoon resists corrosion from moisture and coffee oils, and does not impart metallic taste to the grounds. The 115 mm overall length fits comfortably in the hand and allows easy access to dosing chambers and portafilters of standard commercial espresso machines.
The smooth, seamless finish and rounded edges simplify cleaning; a quick rinse under hot water removes residual grounds, and the spoon can be sanitised alongside other bar utensils in a commercial sink or dishwasher.
This is the single version supplied under article 355740, sized for the standard coffee dose used in professional espresso preparation.
