A contact grill presses food between two heated, ribbed plates to seal in juices and create distinct grill marks. The top and bottom plates transfer heat directly into the food from both sides at once, cutting cooking time and ensuring even doneness without flipping. This method is especially effective for meats, fish and sandwiches that benefit from a crisp exterior and tender interior.
The operator lowers the top plate onto the food, which rests on the ribbed bottom plate. A work switch starts the heating cycle, while a dial adjusts the temperature between 50 and 300 °C. An indicator light shows the set temperature, and a safety thermostat prevents overheating. Grease and residue drip into a removable tray beneath the plates, keeping the work surface clean.
The grill is built with a stainless-steel body and ribbed cast-aluminium plates. A heat-resistant handle allows safe opening and closing, and the bottom plate has a raised edge to contain spills. The unit measures 430 mm wide, 360 mm deep and 200 mm high, fitting on most worktops without crowding adjacent equipment.
A 2.2 kW power rating requires a dedicated 230 V circuit capable of handling the load without tripping. The adjustable temperature range covers everything from gentle warming to high-heat searing, making the grill suitable for a variety of menu items. The 390 mm plate width accommodates multiple portions at once, reducing batch times in busy service periods.
Cleaning involves removing the grease tray and wiping the ribbed plates with a non-abrasive pad after each use. The raised edge on the bottom plate simplifies wiping, and the stainless-steel surfaces resist staining. The safety thermostat and work switch should be checked periodically for proper function.
This model is also available in single-plate, double-plate and Panini configurations, allowing operators to choose the setup that matches their menu and throughput.
The product sits in the contact-grill section of the professional catering catalogue, alongside other high-output countertop appliances.
