A dolly provides a mobile base for heavy containers, allowing kitchen staff to move large volumes of ingredients, stock or waste without lifting. The unit rolls on castors, so the operator simply tilts the container onto the platform and pushes the load to its destination. To use the dolly, the operator positions it behind the container, tilts the container back until it rests against the dolly's backstop, then rolls the combined unit to the required location. Once in place, the container is tilted forward off the dolly and set down. The dolly can then be stored flat or used for the next container.
