Temperature range: 65–105 °C
A glass-ceramic heating surface keeps plated dishes, buffet items and pre-prepared meals at serving temperature without drying or scorching. Beneath the smooth glass panel, electric elements radiate heat upwards in a steady, even field. The glass-ceramic material absorbs the heat and releases it gradually across the entire surface, eliminating hot spots and allowing precise control over the temperature at which food is held.
To use the surface, place the unit on a stable worktop or counter. Plug the lead into a 230 V supply and switch on. Set the desired holding temperature between 65 °C and 105 °C in 5 °C steps using the rotary control. Once the surface reaches the set point, arrange plates, trays or serving dishes directly on the glass. The 35 × 55 cm area accommodates multiple items side by side, while the 15 kg maximum load allows for heavier platters or stacked dishes. Monitor the temperature with the built-in indicator and adjust as needed to maintain the correct warmth for sauces, pastries or hot beverages.
The surface is constructed from 5 mm thick glass-ceramic, a material chosen for its shatter resistance and thermal stability. A high-quality aluminium frame surrounds the glass, providing structural support and protecting the edges from knocks. The frame also raises the glass slightly above the worktop, allowing air to circulate underneath and preventing heat from transferring to the surface below.
The single rotary control adjusts the temperature in 5 °C increments across the 65–105 °C range. A pilot light confirms power is on and the surface is heating. The 0.23 kW power rating draws a modest load from the 230 V circuit, making it suitable for standard kitchen wiring without overloading.
The 380 × 550 mm footprint fits neatly on most worktops, while the 25 mm height keeps the profile low for easy access. The 15 kg load capacity dictates how much weight can be placed on the surface at once, ensuring stability when loading or unloading. The temperature range of 65–105 °C covers gentle warming for delicate items and higher settings for keeping sauces or soups at serving temperature.
Cleaning is straightforward: allow the surface to cool, then wipe with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The smooth glass-ceramic resists staining and does not absorb food odours. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which can scratch the surface. The aluminium frame can be wiped down with the same cloth, taking care not to let water seep into the electrical components beneath.
