A manual citrus press extracts juice by pressing halved lemons, limes or oranges between two ridged surfaces. The upper cone descends onto the lower bowl, forcing the juice through the fruit's pulp while the ridges break the membranes and the seeds stay trapped inside the bowl. This method yields clear juice without pulp or seeds, and the pressure applied by hand controls the flow so that no juice is wasted.
To use the squeezer, place a halved citrus fruit cut-side down on the lower bowl. Lower the upper cone until it meets the fruit, then press down firmly. The juice runs through the perforations in the bowl and collects in the base, ready to be poured. The process is repeated for each half, and the ridged surfaces are wiped clean between uses to prevent cross-contamination.
The unit is constructed as a single piece of cast aluminium, which is light enough to move between worktops yet strong enough to withstand daily pressing. The 208 mm height allows the press to fit under standard kitchen cupboards when stored upright, and the footprint is small enough to keep on a prep surface without crowding other tools.
Cleaning is straightforward: the ridged surfaces are rinsed under a tap after each use, and the aluminium can be washed in warm soapy water. The material does not absorb odours or stains, so the squeezer remains hygienic even with frequent citrus use.
This model is a single-size manual press without interchangeable parts or electrical components. It is categorised in the Stalgast catalogue under bar and beverage equipment, alongside juicers and cocktail tools.
