Stalgast stainless steel grater with fine holes, suitable for finely grating spices, fruit, vegetables, and cheese.
A grater of this type uses a flat or slightly curved stainless-steel blade punched with sharp-edged holes. The food is pressed against the blade and drawn across it; the edges cut thin slivers or fine shreds that fall through the holes. The size and shape of the holes determine the texture: fine holes produce a powder-like grating suitable for hard spices, citrus zest, chocolate and hard cheeses, while larger holes yield coarser shreds for vegetables and softer cheeses.
To use the grater, hold it steady on the worktop or over a bowl. Place the item to be grated against the upper end of the blade and slide it downward with firm, even pressure. Repeat until the desired quantity is obtained. The long 405 mm blade allows a single stroke to cover more surface, reducing the number of passes needed for larger quantities.
The grater is made from stainless steel, which resists corrosion and maintains sharp edges through repeated use. Its 35 mm width keeps it narrow enough to store in a standard utensil drawer or on a magnetic knife strip, while the 405 mm length provides ample grating surface for professional volumes.
The fine-hole pattern is stamped directly into the steel, producing a consistent texture without clogging. After use, the grater can be placed in a dishwasher, where the open design allows water and detergent to reach every surface, removing residue without manual scrubbing.
This model is a single-sided grater with fine holes; no other patterns or blade types are included.
