Stalgast Stainless Steel Colander with Handles, 315 mm Diameter

A colander separates food from liquid by holding the contents in a perforated bowl while the water drains away. The holes allow gravity to pull the liquid through, leaving the solids behind on the surface. This method avoids lifting or tipping heavy pots, and the wide diameter spreads the load so that even bulky items like pasta or leafy greens drain evenly without clumping.

The operator places the colander on a worktop or in a sink, loads the cooked or washed food into the bowl, and lets the water run off. The two handles give a firm grip for lifting once the draining is complete, and the shallow, stable base keeps the colander from tipping while it is in use.

The bowl is made of stainless steel, which resists corrosion and does not absorb odours or flavours. The surface is smooth, so food particles do not stick, and the entire unit can be run through a commercial dishwasher for rapid turnaround between services.
