A thermometer probe measures the internal temperature of food, liquids or equipment without opening doors or disturbing the process. It works by inserting a metal sensor into the item; the sensor reacts to heat and sends a reading to the display. This method gives instant, precise results, essential for food safety and consistent cooking in professional kitchens.
The operator inserts the probe into the food or liquid, waits a few seconds for the reading to stabilise, then reads the temperature on the connected display. The narrow design allows deep penetration into large joints, soups or oil baths without losing heat or accuracy. Once the target temperature is reached, the probe is withdrawn and cleaned.
The probe is housed in 18/10 stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant alloy that withstands repeated exposure to moisture, fats and cleaning chemicals. Its dimensions—50 mm diameter at the handle and 160 mm length—balance a secure grip with access to deep containers.
The temperature range of -0 to +300 °C covers chilling, holding, cooking and frying processes. A reading at the lower end confirms safe refrigeration or blast-chilling; at the upper end, it verifies oil temperature for deep-frying or core temperature for roasting.
Cleaning follows from the materials: the stainless steel housing can be wiped with a sanitising cloth or immersed in a sink of hot detergent water. The probe should be dried immediately to prevent water spots and stored in a clean, dry cupboard to avoid contamination between uses.
