Water grill with steam grilling system that makes the food more juicy and crispy
A water grill uses a shallow tank of water beneath the cooking surface to catch grease and condensate as they drip from the food. The water absorbs heat from the grill's electric elements, creating a gentle, even radiant warmth that cooks without drying. Because the water never boils, it does not steam the food; instead it stabilises the temperature across the entire grid, eliminating hot spots and allowing precise control over the cooking process.
To operate the grill, fill the built-in tank with water, switch on the power and set the desired temperature with the ergonomic knobs. The integrated heater grid heats up quickly, and the work light shows when the surface is ready. Place food on the grid; grease and condensate flow down into the water below. When cooking is finished, switch off the grill and allow the grid to cool. The self-cleaning feature loosens residue, which can then be removed with the included scraper. The water tank lifts out for emptying and washing, and the front panel is laser-engraved to resist wear.
The grill is constructed from stainless steel and measures 800 mm wide, 700 mm deep and 250 mm high, fitting on most worktops. It requires a 400 V three-phase supply, which is standard for high-power catering appliances. The 8.2 kW power rating reflects the load on the circuit, so installation must follow commercial kitchen wiring regulations.
Cleaning involves emptying and rinsing the water tank, scraping the grid and wiping the laser-engraved control panel. The self-cleaning cycle reduces manual scrubbing, and the optional chimney can be fitted to vent steam and odours if the kitchen layout requires it.
The Stalgast Water Grill is listed in the professional cooking equipment section of the catalogue.
