A compressor is the pump at the heart of any refrigeration circuit. It draws low-pressure refrigerant vapour from the evaporator, compresses it to a high-pressure, high-temperature state, and forces it into the condenser. There the heat picked up inside the cabinet is released to the outside air, allowing the refrigerant to cool, condense and return to the evaporator for another cycle. The EMT2121U R290 unit uses hydrocarbon refrigerant, chosen for its low environmental impact and efficient thermodynamic properties, to deliver the rapid heat removal professional kitchens rely on.

Installation follows the standard sequence for semi-hermetic compressors. The unit is bolted to the refrigeration frame, refrigerant lines are brazed to the suction and discharge ports, and electrical connections are made to the terminal block. Once the system is evacuated and charged with the specified quantity of R290, the compressor starts automatically when the thermostat calls for cooling. The housing should be wiped down periodically with a damp cloth to remove dust and grease that can insulate the motor and reduce cooling efficiency. No internal cleaning is required or possible without specialist tools and refrigerant recovery equipment.
