A counter chiller keeps prepared snacks and chilled ingredients within arm's reach of the service line without breaking the refrigeration chain. Instead of a static cold wall, a fan circulates air across an evaporator coil, drawing heat from every shelf evenly. This ventilated cooling eliminates hot spots and keeps every item at the same set temperature, whether it is placed at the front, back or centre of the cabinet. The fan also speeds up the chill-down of warm items, so trays of cooked food can be loaded straight from the pass and brought to safe holding temperature faster than in a still-air unit.

The operator slides trays or containers onto the two wire shelves, closes the self-closing doors, and sets the desired temperature between -2 °C and +10 °C. An automatic defrost cycle runs at intervals, melting any frost that forms on the coil without manual intervention. The removable table top allows the unit to be positioned flush against a wall or under a worktop, while adjustable legs level the cabinet on uneven floors.

The exterior and interior are stainless steel, chosen for resistance to corrosion and ease of sanitising. Two white wire shelves provide 328 mm by 430 mm of usable space each, allowing standard gastronorm trays or loose containers to be organised side by side. The 230 L volume gives room for multiple batches of sandwiches, salads, desserts or pre-plated dishes without crowding.

A 0.3 kW compressor draws power from a standard 220-240 V, 50 Hz single-phase supply, matching the circuit used by most countertop equipment in commercial kitchens. The 94 kg weight means the unit can be moved with a sack truck or two people, but is stable once in place. The 1360 mm width fits across a standard worktop or island, leaving space for service on either side.

Cleaning involves wiping the stainless steel surfaces with a damp cloth and approved sanitiser, removing the wire shelves to wash them separately, and occasionally vacuuming the condenser coil at the rear to maintain airflow. The automatic defrost system reduces the need for manual defrosting, but the interior should be checked regularly for spills or debris.

The SK6210 is available with or without a splashback, allowing the unit to be installed against a wall or as a freestanding island. It is listed in the TEFCOLD catalogue under counter refrigeration for snack and light meal service.
