Hinged doors. Temperature range +2 to +10 °C
A backbar cooler maintains bottled and canned drinks at serving temperature in tight bar spaces where quick access is essential. The unit removes heat from stored items and releases it into the room using a circulating refrigerant. A fan circulates air over the evaporator coil, cooling the interior faster and more evenly than still air. The refrigerant absorbs heat, evaporates, and is then compressed and condensed outside the cabinet, releasing warmth into the surrounding area. This process repeats continuously, keeping the internal temperature stable between +2 °C and +10 °C, even with frequent door openings.
The cooler features six wire shelves, each designed to hold standard bar stock. Shelves slide out for easy restocking and can be adjusted to accommodate taller items. An electronic thermostat allows temperature settings within the +2 °C to +10 °C range, with a display showing the current temperature. The automatic defrost function prevents ice build-up on the evaporator, removing the need for manual defrosting. Internal LED lighting ensures contents are visible, even in low-light conditions. A lockable door secures stock when the bar is closed or during service.
The cabinet includes a double-glazed door for insulation while providing a clear view of the contents. The interior and wire shelves are made of coated steel for durability and easy cleaning. Adjustable legs allow the unit to be levelled on uneven floors, and a front vent ensures proper airflow for the condenser. The refrigerant used is R600a, a hydrocarbon with a low environmental impact.
The cooler operates on a 220-240 V, 50 Hz power supply, matching standard UK commercial circuits, and consumes 0.195 kW under normal conditions. Weighing 88 kg, the unit requires a trolley or two people for movement. Its 1350 mm width fits typical backbar spaces beneath shelves or mirrors. The net volume of 287 litres provides ample storage, while the gross volume of 338 litres accounts for the cooling system and insulation.
Maintenance involves wiping the wire shelves and interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The automatic defrost cycle removes moisture from the evaporator, but the condensate tray should be checked and emptied regularly. The exterior can be cleaned with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner to preserve its appearance.
The DB302H is a single-door backbar cooler designed for commercial use in bars, cafés, and restaurants, fitting seamlessly into the TEFCOLD range of beverage refrigeration equipment.
