TEFCOLD Monoblock Cooler Unit WRA-M18-1 for Thick-Wall Cabinets

A monoblock cooler unit clamps onto the outside of a refrigerated cabinet and circulates chilled air through a single sealed loop. The compressor draws refrigerant gas from the evaporator, compresses it to raise its pressure and temperature, then sends it to the condenser where a fan expels the heat to the room. As the gas cools, it condenses into liquid and flows back through a capillary tube into the evaporator inside the cabinet. There it evaporates, absorbing heat from the cabinet air, and the cycle repeats. This closed loop keeps the cabinet at the set temperature without needing separate indoor and outdoor sections.

The operator fits the WRA-M18-1 to the back or side of a walk-in or reach-in cabinet whose walls are up to 200 mm thick. A digital controller mounted on the front panel displays the current temperature and allows the operator to set the desired range between -5 °C and +15 °C. Once the unit is powered on, the compressor and fan start automatically and maintain the temperature without further adjustment. The ventilated cooling system ensures even airflow across the evaporator, preventing hot spots inside the cabinet.

The unit is built as a single white RAL9003 block with a galvanised steel chassis and aluminium heat-exchange coils. A refrigerant charge of 150 g of R290 (propane) is sealed inside the system. The digital controller shows the temperature on an LED display and has a single rotary knob to set the target value. An internal sensor monitors the evaporator temperature and cycles the compressor on and off to hold the set point.

A power rating of 16.92 kWh per 24 hours indicates the electrical load the unit places on the kitchen circuit. The 220-240 V supply matches standard single-phase UK commercial sockets, so no special wiring is required. The 59 kg weight means the unit is moved with a trolley or by two people. Its footprint of 671 mm wide, 975 mm deep and 828 mm high determines the space it occupies on the wall or floor behind the cabinet.

Cleaning involves wiping the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The condenser coil should be vacuumed periodically to remove dust that would reduce cooling efficiency. The digital controller is wiped with a dry cloth to keep the display clear. No internal cleaning is required because the refrigerant circuit is sealed.

The WRA-M18-1 supports serial connection, allowing multiple units to be linked and controlled from a single point if the cabinet is large or segmented.
