TEFCOLD Monoblock Cooler Unit WRA-M8-1 for Thick Panels

A monoblock cooler unit condenses refrigerant inside a single sealed housing, eliminating the need for separate indoor and outdoor components. The compressor draws vapour from the evaporator coil, compresses it, and forces it through the condenser coil where it releases heat to the outside air. A fan accelerates the heat exchange, while a capillary tube or expansion valve meters the refrigerant back into the evaporator, completing the cycle. This closed loop continuously removes heat from the walk-in chiller, maintaining the set temperature without requiring external pipework or additional condensers.

The operator mounts the unit on the exterior wall of the chiller, aligning the evaporator coil with the interior. After securing the unit, the digital controller is set to the desired temperature between -5 °C and +15 °C. The controller displays the current temperature and activates the compressor and fan automatically. When multiple units are needed, they can be connected in series to share the cooling load across a larger space.

The housing is finished in white RAL9003, matching standard refrigeration panels. The refrigerant is R290, a hydrocarbon with low global warming potential. The cooling system is ventilated, using forced air to dissipate heat from the condenser coil. The unit accepts panels up to 200 mm thick, allowing it to fit thicker insulation common in professional walk-in chillers.

Controls consist of a digital display and buttons for setting the temperature. The display shows the current temperature inside the chiller, while the buttons adjust the set point within the -5 °C to +15 °C range.

The 220-240 V voltage requirement matches the standard single-phase supply in British commercial kitchens, allowing the unit to plug into existing circuits without additional wiring. The 46 kg weight means the unit can be lifted by two people or moved with a small trolley, simplifying installation on site. The 421 mm depth, 876 mm width and 726 mm height give a compact footprint that fits on most exterior walls without protruding into service areas.

Cleaning involves wiping the exterior housing with a damp cloth to remove dust and grease. The condenser coil should be vacuumed periodically to maintain airflow, as blockages reduce cooling efficiency. The digital controller requires no maintenance beyond checking the display for error codes.
